In occasione della Festa Nazionale del 25 Aprile riporto questo trafiletto pubblicato su un piccolo giornale locale in Texas.Per nessuna occasione particolare. Solo per ricordare ai cittadini come esporre la bandiera correttamente e come eliminarla rispettosamente quando è consumata.
In Italia la bandiera si sventola solo ai Mondiali e tra chi l'ha fatto con timidezza per i 150 Anni dell'Unità ci sono molti che si sono dimenticati di toglierla dai balconi, a più di un mese dalla ricorrenza.
" There is a right way and a wrong way to display the flag. The American flag should be held in the highest of regards. It represents our nation and the many people who gave their lives for our Country and for our flag.
Here are the basics on displaying the American flag:
- The flag is normally flown from sunrise to sunset. -Always, raise and lower it ceremoniusly. - The flag should not be flown at night without a light on it.
- The flag should not be flown in the rain or inclement weather. - After a tragedy or death the flag is flown at half staff for 30 days.
- Never let your flag touch the ground, never..period.
- Fold your flag when storing. Don't just stuff it in a drawer or a box. - When your flag is old, it is time to retire it. - Old flag should be burned or buried. Please do not throw it in the trash."

Is it just me or does it seem like a few of the remarks come across like they are left by brain dead visitors? :-P And, if you are writing on additional sites, I would like to keep up with you. Could you make a list of all of all your social sites like your Facebook page, twitter feed, or linkedin profile?
